Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus to discuss the situation in Syria and Iraq with EU foreign ministers today


Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus is taking part in the European Union foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels today, where the main topic will be Syria and Iraq. According to Foreign Minister Pentus-Rosimannus, the foreign ministers will discuss UN Special Representative Mr. Staffan de Mistura’s possible plans to stabilize the situation in the region.

The foreign ministers will also talk about developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn visited in early December.

Other topics to be discussed include the need for further developments and reforms in Ukraine, which High Representative Mogherini plans to visit December 16-17, as well as the European Union's activities in the fight to stop the spread of the Ebola virus.
