Foreign Minister Urmas Paet Visiting Sweden

Tomorrow, 15 November, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will be in Sweden for a visit.

Foreign Minister Paet says that Estonia-Sweden relations are very good and close in all sectors, including economics, defence co-operation, and cultural contacts. “Sweden is the biggest direct investor in Estonia and its second trade partner by volume,” Paet stated.

Foreign Minister Paet has meetings scheduled with Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt and European Union Affairs Minister Birgitta Ohlsson. Topics to be discussed at the meetings are Estonia-Sweden bilateral relations and regional and international co-operation. Other topics to be addressed are developments in Afghanistan and relations with Russia, as well as the upcoming OSCE summit. European Union matters, including EU enlargement and the Baltic Sea Region Strategy, will also be addressed.

Paet will also meet with the Estonian community in Stockholm.
